Did you know the First documented Asian migration to the US was in 1587. Despite centuries of interwoven history, Asian American history is heavily lacking in Georgia Social Studies curriculum. Core events such as Japanese American internment during WWII are omitted from our children's history lessons. We can do better.
Please Join us for a community interest meeting on integrating Asian American/Pacific Islander histories into the Georgia curricula: opportunities, obstacles, and next steps.

2021-2022 MARC Application is Open!
Dear Educational Partner,
Do you know a student in the Atlanta region who is looking for an opportunity to grow their leadership skills? A student who cares about housing affordability, protection of greenspace, and other issues facing metro Atlanta? If so, then the region’s premier leadership program, Model Atlanta Regional Commission (MARC), is a great opportunity.
Please read on for more information and feel free to share the 2021 flyer!
MARC is the only program of its kind to involve students in experiential learning in real-world areas affecting life here in metro Atlanta. For more than two decades, it has engaged young people on the latest in transportation, natural resource sustainability, and community development.
MARC participants meet once a month for six months as they take part in hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and thought-provoking discussions with local civic leaders and experts as they develop their own actionable solutions to the challenges facing us.
The 2021-2022 MARC program application is now open to rising 10th and 11th grade students who reside or attend school in the 10-county Atlanta region (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties, and the City of Atlanta) and are interested in learning how they can act to make metro Atlanta an even better place to call home.
The program is free to attend. Applications are due by June 4, 2021 and space is limited.
How to Apply
Visit www.atlantaregional.org/marc for more information and to apply. Please feel free to share the 2021 flyer with your networks. Questions? Contact Crystal Jackson at email@example.com or 470-378-1553. ... See MoreSee Less
