 Message from the presidents

“Always believe something wonderful is about to happen.”* ~Sukhraj S. Dhillon

“Joy is increased by spreading it to others.” ~Robert Murray McCheyne

It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the school year!  We know that the wonderful events you put on during the first semester brought joy to many in your school communities.

As you wind down for the winter break, it is time for some transition housekeeping – take a little time to update notebooks, think about your board replacement, find a nominating committee, etc. Just like you, North Fulton Council is also doing these things. At our January SoI, we will be electing our nominating committee. We need five people to sit on the committee; we are looking for representation from all high school clusters in North Fulton. This is a short-term position – only about 6 weeks. If you know a wide variety of people in your school community, we need you! If you can serve, please email us (president@nfcpta.com).

We are excited to have Dr. Dana Rickman from the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education presenting on “The Top 10 Issues to Watch in Education 2016” for our January 27, 2016 School of Information.  What are the hot topics in 2016 that will impact our children and schools?  Funding?  Assessment?  Evaluations?  Reforms?  The SOI is open to the community – be sure to advertise it.  The better informed we are, the better we can support our students, teachers, and schools.  We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 27.
Thank you for all you’ve done this first half of the year. We hope you enjoy your well-deserved winter break. Looking forward to seeing you in 2016.
Happy Holidays,

~Diane Jacobi & Vickie Riccardo
